A cast copper alloy single looped buckle frame. The D-shaped loop has a narrowed and offset strap bar.
There are moulded knops at either end of the strap bar. The frame of the buckle has been decorated with moulded knops and incised decoration. The frame has a rounded front, with an inward pointing lip.
There is no pin recess on the loop.
The reverse is undecorated. The buckle frame is complete. The buckle is a dark greenish-red colour and the surface is quite pitted.
These buckles date from circa 1500 – 1650.
Similar buckles can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p29.

A decoratively moulded cast copper alloy rectangular shoe or knee buckle.
The buckle has a drilled frame for a separate spindle. The spindle and pin are missing. The frame is decoratively moulded, with scrolled knops on the outer edge of each loop and bifid knops around the spindle hole.
These buckles date from circa 1660 - 1720. Parallels for this type of buckle can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p98.

A cast copper alloy double looped asymmetrical buckle, with an intact strap bar. One loop is rectangular, the other is rounded. There is a groove on the outer edge of each loop and other moulded decoration. The rounded loop has a lobed protrusion into the interior of the buckle. The frame is uninterrupted; so therefore has no pin recess. The pin is missing. The metal has lost most of its original surface, the metal is a dark greyish-green colour. This type of buckle dates from circa 1575 – 1700. Parallels for this type of buckle can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p91.

A cast copper alloy horse bridle boss. The boss is circular in shape, with a raised circular central dome, surrounded by a decoratively moulded lobed border. The central dome is decorated with a fleur-de-lys, surrounded by a ropework design.
One iron rivet survives in situ. There is a second empty rivet hole.
The reverse of the object is undecorated. The object is slightly worn and some of the original surface is missing. Horse bosses of this type date to the 18th century.

A cast copper alloy strap fitting, dating to the post-medieval period.
The fitting comprises a tapering cylinder, formed from a plate of copper alloy. The object has a thicken rim, with two rivet holes punched through it. Nearer the top of the fitting, two concentric rings have been incised into the fitting.
Extending up from the top of the fitting there is a separate loop. The loop has been cast separately and then soldered into the top of the fitting.
The metal is a mid reddish-brown colour.

a copper alloy probable Roman stud. It is complete, with a dome head measuring 24.75mm, which has traces of white metal coating. The edges of the rim have been inturned in part, and the central shaft is integral, and circular in cross section. The stud measures 21.27mm in length and weighs 23.96g. There are corrosion products, and possibly metal remains (?lead) within the cap of the dome.
This example is similar to, but heavier-looking than examples illustrated from Roman Colchester.
