A cast copper alloy mount. The mount is appears to depict two facing scallop shells around a raised central boss. The shells are incised with radiating lines similar to those typical of scallop shells. Some traces of gilding remain within the incised lines. Two attachment spikes remain in situ on the reverse; they are bent at right angles. The object is worn with a dark green patina. It is post medieval in date.

Very worn incomplete medieval circa 14th century harness pendant. The pendant is is oval in shape and has a suspension loop set at right angles to the plane of the pendant. No decoration survives on this pendant and the lower edge is incomplete due to old breaks. It is 20.53mm in length and 13.40mm in width.

A cast copper alloy bar-mount with a central circular lobe cast integrally to two circular knops - one at the top and one at the bottom of the mount. The circular mount is domed and has a hole cut into it. The hole is countersunk. Each knop houses a rivet hole. Both rivet holes still contains a copper alloy rivet. The rivet extends backwards from the mount. The metal surface of the object is dark brownish-green in colour and slightly worn. The mount probably dates to the 12th - 15th century. A cast copper alloy gilded mount or book fitting. The mount is formed from a piece of copper alloy, which is rectangular at one end and bent back on itself to form a hook. At the opposite end, the mount terminates with a circular element with a central rivet hole, and a large elongated terminal knop. Between these two elements is a collared constriction. The rivet is missing. Areas of gilding remain around the rivet hole. The object is worn with a dark green patina. It is medieval to post medieval in date.

Complete copper-alloy medieval circa 14th century casket key, measuring 45.91mm in total length. The bow is circular, 15.66mm in width and the stem solid with an oval cross-section, it projects beyond the bit. The bit is rectangular with two U-shaped notches cut into the outer edge and one U-shaped notch cut into the inner edge.

Circular Medieval buckle of copper alloy. It is complete and covered in a black patina. The surface is covered in a varnish. It has an external diameter of 19mm and an internal diameter of 12mm. It wieghs 3.12g. The frame is undecorated and the sheet copper alloy pin is unconstricted. It is similar to objects 31 and 32 in Egan and Pritchard (1991). For circular buckles, the leather strap would have been attached directly to the frame. Buckles, such as this, with diameters of less than 20mm are thought to have been from shoes (Egan and Pritchard 1991, pg 57). They date from 1250-…

A cast copper alloy mount in the shape of an acorn placed centrally between two leaves. A short stalk is placed below the acorn. The reverse of the mount is slightly hollowed. Fifteen sherds from coarseware cooking pots of eleventh to twelfth century date. Five are rim sherds, five are body sherds and five are carinated base sherds (two of which conjoin). The sherds are a reduced dark grey or a slightly more oxidised dark reddish-brown. The fabric contains moderate angular chert and sub-rounded grog inclusions (up to 3mm). Most of the sherds have external sooting. The curvature of the rim sherds indicates rim diameters of about 30cm, 52cm, 58cm and 60cm (x2). Combined weight: 651g

Incomplete Colchester type two piece brooch of copper alloy. The pin and half of the spring mechanisms are missing and the bow is bent. It is covered in a green patina and has been coated in a varnish. It measures 55x28x16mm and weighs 10.60g. The end of each of the wings is decorated with two transverse grooves. The wings are curved around the spring mechanism and the lug contains both the perforations for the cable and spring. The bow is plain and tapers gently towards the foot. The catchplate likewise is plain. Date: 1st century AD (Hattatt 1987)
