A cast copper-alloy late medieval/early post medieval heavy-duty domed thimble. The indentations are hand-drilled, roughly circular in shape and varying in size. They are closely set in a spiral pattern beginning at the rim and finishing near the crown where a small patch has been left bare. File marks can be seen on the base of the rim. Inside the thimble are three small oval patches of metal left from the casting process. The thimble is slightly tapered, measuring 21mm at the rim and 17mm at the shoulder. An incomplete cast copper-alloy medieval composite buckle frame with forked spacer. The oval frame has a central notched lip for the pin. The frame is flat underneath and bevelled on top and has been narrowed at the spacer for the tapered sheet pin. The spacer has a rectangular aperture next to the frame. Both of the prongs have their tips missing. The top and bottom surfaces of part of the spacer have been filed down to accomodate the missing buckle plates. Copper alloy brooch, Colchester type. Missing part of pin and catchplate fold, otherwise in good condition. 6-turn spring. Small flat wings with no decoration. Circular section bow, with slight facets making it almost hexagonal, tapering to a blunt point and with no decoration. In profile the head angle is around 90 degrees and there is a strong curve. The catchplate has two rectangular and one triangular holes. Width 10mm, length 36mm - small for the type.
