A rectangular copper alloy fragment with a flat back and a very slightly convex upper surface. In the centre of this surface is a square grip with finely incised cross-hatching. One end terminates in two ridges across the width of the strip,just before a break. The function of this fragment is not known.

Incomplete Late Iron Age or Roman iron penannular brooch of Fowler type C. This simple brooch is formed from a single circular sectioned piece of wire, curved into a C shaped hoop. The ends of the wire are spiralled and then bent at a right angle to the plane of the hoop. One spiralled terminal is missing, as is the pin. The brooch has a diameter of 26.18mm and the hoop is 1.82mm wide and 1.8mm thick. The spiral terminal is 4.98mm wide. The brooch weighs 1.16g. It has lost its original surface and exposed surfaces are now brown with patches of orange corrosion. The break edge is worn, …

Early medieval Anglo-Scandinavian (Viking) cast copper alloy stirrup terminal, 11th century. Sub-triangular in plan. Semi-cylindrical groove along the longest side, within which the iron stirrup would have sat - traces of a white substance, probably solder, within this. Very worn with little detail surviving, but an animal body/head forms the side of the terminal, with the head curving round from the base and forming an aperture. A complete cast copper alloy circular seal matrix of Medieval, fourteenth century date (AD 1300 – AD 1400). Length 18.8mm, diameter 18.0mm. Weight 5.98g. The seal matrix, which has a tapering handle that is hexagonal in cross-section, terminates with an oval-shaped suspension loop. The suspension loop has a circular perforation, 2.0mm in diameter. As of Claudius, local issue, 26-27mm in diameter and weighs 7.35g. Date: about 60 Ref: see RIC 100 for prototype. Robert Kenyon, following on from the work by the French scholars P-A. Besombes and M. Bompaire (in Trésors Monétaires XXI, 2005), is working through the British examples of Claudian coinage recorded through the PAS assigning many so-called Claudian contemporary copies to Roman auxiliary mints which operated at Lyons (Gaul) and in Spain. The description (no image) suggests this example is a native copy.
