Pewter pilgrim's ampulla. This elaborate example is a Canterbury souvenir relating to Thomas Becket and probably dating to circa 1170-1220. The ampulla is damaged (there is a hole near the base) and slightly bent out of shape. Areas of both sides are encrusted with corrosion or attached minerals, obscuring some of the detail of the decoration. However one side depicts an ecclesiastical figure (perhaps Becket?) above a quatrefoil design perhaps representing a flower. The very accomplished, so-called prototypes, of this series depict a different Becket miracle in each roundel of the …

A cast lead alloy toy plate dating to the 1640’s. The plate is both damaged around the outside edge (flange) and is suffering from corrosion which leads much of the surface design to be undecipherable. The plate is flat, with a broad flat flange, which has some residual evidence of scroll decoration. In the centre of the plate is a five petelled double rose surrounded by a foliate scroll.

Cast lead alloy possible toy plate, dating to the 17th century. The plate is damaged around the outside edge, and there is four ridges radiating from the centre of the plate giving and indication that the plate was folded at some point after its original use had cessed. That plate is plate, with a peletted edge. The central design is a five petelled double rose, surrounded by radiating concentric circles. There appears to be further decoration within these concentric circles but due to corrosion this is no longer decipherable.
