A seal matrix, with a conical handle – probably dating to the late 13th - 14th century. The seal matrix was cast in copper alloy, and then the face was chip carved. The handle has six subtle facets and terminates with a pentagonal loop. The handle has been mis-cast and is therefore off centre. The facets are therefore varying in size. The loop is pierced by a small circular hole. Below the loop there is a step in the metal, as it increases in thickness to the handle proper. A copper-alloy mount most likely to be Roman or possibly later in date. This mount is circular in plan, measuring 21.5mm in diameter with a hollow back face and a conical front face, it is 13.3mm in height. The front face has a rounded top and circular mouldings below this. There is an incomplete integral copper-alloy shaft within the hollow back face. It could have been a decorative box mount originally.

An incomplete and slightly corroded copper-alloy nail cleaner of probable mid 1st to mid 2nd century AD date. Crummy type 2a (N. Crummy; 1983; pp. 58). The suspension loop is missing, but appears to have been on the same plane as the blade. There is a narrow shoulder section, which expands slightly to form a bulge at the top of the leaf-shaped blade. The blade sides taper gently towards the two forked points. Both sides of the blade are decorated with an incised line around the outer edge and the surface of the object is black, indicating a possible corroded tinning or silvering. …

An incomplete copper-alloy openwork disc brooch of late Anglo-Saxon date. Just under half of this brooch is now missing due to old breaks, it measures 26.3mm in diameter and is flat. The brooch is circular and has a circular hole through each quarter creating four expanding arms around a central lozenge, or a cross-shape. The circular holes have marginal grooves around them. On the back face there is an integral catch plate but the pin lug is missing with that part of the brooch. Another very similar brooch has been found in Eye Suffolk, again incomplete see SF-28C726.

Romano-British copper alloy umbonate plate brooch, catchplate and associated lobe missing, only stubs of side lobes and of lobe next to double pin lug extant. Decorated with pair of concentric rings of triangular cells filled with enamel. Red and blue enamel remains in some cells in the outer ring, but none survives in the inner one. It is uncertain whether there was a nipple or enamelled dot in the very worn centre. >21 x >23mm. 2nd century.

Fragment of a lead alloy pilgrim badge, probably from the cult of St. Bridget at Syon Abbey, Isleworth. The fragment appears to be part of a circular badge with a border of raised pellets. Within this border is a scrolling border with fleur-de-lis. The badge depicts the saint with halo and long robes at her writing desk, holding a quill. Behind her a cross-hatched rectangular area may represent a bench. The reverse is plain with part of a catch for a pin remaining.

Incomplete Early Saxon pair of copper alloy tweezers in rather battered condition and bent, lower parts of arms missing, apparently recent break. The top of the loop, the narrowest part of the object, is slightly concave. Decoration on both faces is similar: immediately below the loop a pair of transverse grooves, a pair of edge notches, a triplet of transverse grooves and after a 14mm gap another triplet. Width 4 - 6mm. Extant length 45mm. Sheet up to 0.9mm thick. 5th - 6th century.

Fragment of Late Iron Age grog tempered ware, c. 75 BCAD 50. This fragment is from the shoulder of the vessel, and though does not show the rim, clearly shows a cordon. The fabric of the ceramic shows black grog temper and a little sand with traces of mica, typical of Essex clays. The surface of the fragment is orangey brown in colour, whilst the core is black. The fragment weighs 23.21g.

a copper alloy medieval harness pendant. It is a quatrefoil with irregular sized lobes and measures 33.57mm in length and 26.51mm in width. It weighs 8.08g. The attachment loop at the top is incomplete. The mount is decorated with enamels in red, dark blue and pale green.It has a central six-petalled flower (red) with a central dot and narrow surround (pale green) and the background is dark blue. Within all four lobes there is a three-leaf device , suggestive of a fleur-de-lis (pale green). The reverse of the pendant is plain and undecorated.

The front face of the weight is decorated with a series of three irregular cast pellets arranged in a line. This design is contained within a rectangular raised border.
