A copper-alloy pin or nail of probable Roman date. The head is bi-conical, with most of the height being in the upper part. It measures 10.4mm high by 9.8mm wide. The shaft is square in section and tapers to a point. Overall, the object is 26mm long and it weighs 5.05g. Similar pins have been found in Roman levels at Colchester (N. Crummy; 1983; pp. 115). Their function is uncertain, although they may have been used to secure furniture fittings.

A slightly damaged copper-alloy hooked tag of probable early post-medieval date. The hanger is largely missing, but the remainder is rectangular in section and it is probable that it would originally have been sub-rectangular in plan. The plate lies immediately below and is sub-circular. It takes the form of a flowerhead, with a recessed circular cell at the centre and eight surrounding petals, depicted through the use of recessed cells and a scalloped outer edge to the plate. Copper alloy cast double loop sword belt hanger. The buckle dates to between 1500 - 1630 and is oval in shape with a central bar. The buckle has an integrally cast circular suspension loop for use as a sword belt hanger. The loop on this example is set at right angles to the buckle frame indicating a 16th -early 17th century date (during the 14th & 15th centuries, the suspension loop on ths type of buckle, lies on the same plain as the buckle frame). The frame measures 53.8mm length, 39.23mm width and 11.8mm thickness and weighs 11.13g.

Fragment of Romano-British enamelled copper alloy plate brooch, now consisting of a bar with concave reverse and with both curving long sides broken (though seemingly intact). The convex front is decorated on a median rib with two quatrefoils or saltires on both sides of a double chevron, all inlaid with dark coloured enamel, and with very fine knurling along two lateral arrises. Almost certainly the central part of an equal-ended, probably lozengiform type. e.g. Hattatt nos.562 and 1114. 35mm x 12.5mm. 2nd century.

A copper-alloy single-loop buckle of probable mid 13th to late 15th century AD date (R. Whitehead; 1996; pp. 18). The frame is roughly D-shaped and is narrow and deep in section. The plate is sub-rectangular, tapering slightly towards the attchment end and has been bent double around the axis bar. Romano-British figurine in the form of a bird, probably a crow, much of the surface detail lost through wear. The outer part of the tail is missing. The legs rest on an integral annular stand, and the claws are visible as slight mouldings at its front. The aperture through the stand tapers upwards, suggesting that the object was intended for mounting on a pointed ended staff.
