Cast copper alloy finger ring of probable post medieval or early modern date (1600 - 1800 AD). The hoop of the finger ring is oval in plan and D shaped in cross section. It measures 22.8mm length, 19.8mm width, and is 3.7mm thick. The internal diameter measures 20.1mm length, 16.8mm width. The hoop of the ring is 1.7mm thick. The ring weighs 2.2 grams. The external face of the ring has been damaged by abrasion. No decoration is present. The internal face of the ring has three small annulet shaped marks within a sub-rectangular field. A copper-alloy finger ring of probable Roman or early post-Roman date. A similar example to this style of ring was found in a grave deposit at Colchester and was dated to the 2nd to mid 5th century AD (N. Crummy; 1983; pp. 48). The object consists of a plain hoop, with a slightly convex outer face and flat inner face. There is a deliberate break of 2mm between two squared-off and slightly out of line terminals. It measures 20.4mm wide by 18.9mm deep (from the back to the front) and 5.4mm high. The weight is 2.78g.

A copper alloy finger ring of probable Roman date. The finger ring is formed from a cast length of semi-circular (D shaped) section copper alloy wire. The wire is 5.3mm wide and 3.6mm thick. It has been bent to form a sub-circular finger ring with a single turn with overlapping terminals. Towards the terminals the finger ring tapers and each has been clipped and filed to form the terminal. The terminals have also been hammered and are square in cross section (3.7mm wide by 3.3mm thick). Late Anglo-Saxon penannular finger ring or ear ring, oval-sectioned formed from hammered sheet, seam visible on reverse, tapering to a point at both ends, internal diameter approximately 20mm, one end bent inward. Cf. Goodall in Rogerson and Dallas (1984) fig.110, nos.17, 20 and 21.
