A fragment of a cast copper alloy buckle frame of probable Early Medieval date (c. AD 650 – c. AD 850). The fragment is bent and distorted. When complete, the length of the D-shaped frame would have been at least 14mm in length and at least 28mm in width. Weight 3.55g.
The surviving part of the frame is slightly convex at the front and flat at the rear and the bar is sub-circular in cross-section, about 3.0mm in diameter. The front of the frame is decorated with an incised chevron pattern. These incisions are partially filled with a buff-coloured substance that is possibly decayed…

An incompletes cast copper alloy and gilded plate brooch of Roman date (AD 100 – AD 250). Length 31mm, diameter 27mm, thickness of plate 3.0mm. Weight 6.86g.
The brooch is circular in plan and has a central circular cell that is 15mm in diameter. At the front the cell is slightly convex and has a small circular depression at the centre. The cell is surrounded by a shallow channel, about 5.0mm in width, decorated with repetitive S-shaped motifs. There is a raised peripheral rim. The rear face is flat and has an incomplete perforated lug at the top to accommodate a copper alloy axis…
