a copper alloy mount with integral spikes. It is an elongated lozenge shape, with a line of decoration of raised circles following all four sides, and a short lozenge outlined in the centre. This could be a setting which is void. There are the remains of two integral spikes on the reverse, and the mount is slightly curved. It is 24.00mm in length and 10.96mm wide, weighing 2.24g.

Post medieval cast copper alloy button. Plano-convex disc shaped head with thread/basket work decoration of squares each with four lines, each group orientated at a right angle to its neighbours (see Egan 2005). Integrally cast loop with circular perforation. The loop is bent at 90° c.2mm from the head. Diameter of head 14.4mm, thickness 5.8mm, weight 2.64g. Cast copper alloy buckle with integral loop. Bi-convex head with central knop. Rounded loop which narrows towards the head, circular perforation. Fine dark green patina. Length 17.73mm, diameter of head 10-11mm, width of loop 6.02mm, thickness of loop 2.2mm, weight 3.45g. Egan 2005 publishes an identical button from Abbots Lane, London, dated 1630-50 ('Material culture in London in an age of transition' MoLAS monograph 19, pp49-50, fig 33, no.182).

Fragment of a copper alloy medieval purse bar. The bar is circular in cross-section and missing its terminal knop. At the other end the bar is broken just before the centre. There is a moulded lip on the underneath containing two rivet holes. The bar is decorated with nielloed double criss-cross lines.

A knop at one end appears to indicate where a shaft (now missing) would have run. The artefact is decorated with thin horizontal lines. The date of this artefact is currently uncertain.

Copper alloy zoomorphic terminal from the foot of a cruciform brooch. The top of the fragment has three transverse grooves and a stub of catchplate on the reverse. The horse's head is triangular in cross-section and has a very abstract look about it. The eyes are extremely highly moulded and decorated with two incised V-shapes around them . The end of the nose is expanded into a flat sub-rectangular area representing two joined nostrils, decorated with two incised inward pointing V-shapes, thus dividing the snout into four triangles. A cast copper alloy object. The object is conical and slightly flattened. It consists of an oval band of copper alloy, of which 80% remains. From this, four further bands rise vertically on each side and join to form two loops. One of these is not attached to the oval band due to a break, which is worn. The two loops are decoratively moulded on one side. The loops are pressed together at the top on the undecorated side, but not joined, therefore creating triangular shaped voids between them. It is unclear whether this flattening was by design or has occurred post deposition. …
