There is a rectangular, facetted bar-mount with a rivet through it, which retains the rove. There is also a rivet with rove in the centre of the plate. It is 14.53mm in length and 10.86mm wide. A sheet copper-alloy unidentified object most likely to be medieval in date. This object appears to be complete but is bent over and distorted. It consists of a central circular part which has two flaring projections adjacent to each other, these both two parallel grooves along them. Incomplete copper alloy medieval key. The key has a circular shaped bow with plain shoulders (i.e. there is no moulding). The tapering shank is subrectangular in section and solid, and slightly truncated. The key bit is also entirely missing, but would most likely have been solid. The original surface of the key is missing. Exposed surfaces are bright green and brown. Break edges are worn smooth, suggesting damage occurred in antiquity. Incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting, probably associated with a sword belt. Post Medieval (AD 1500 – AD 1700). Length 30.0mm, maximum width 13.0mm and maximum thickness of plate 1.0mm. Weight 2.23g.
The piece consists of a plate with an integral hook. The plate is slightly convex at the front and slightly concave at the rear and is an inverted sub-triangular shape in plan.
