A worn fragment from a cast tin object seemingly depicting an anthropomorphic face. The 'eyes' are conjoining and heavily bordered. The 'nose' is triangular, while the 'mouth' is damaged. It is extremely difficult to accurately date such a fragment or to suggest an original context or use. The possibility exists that the face is more illusory than real. There are very slight traces on the reverse which hint at gilding.
