Roman copper alloy horse fitting 51mm long and 33mm wide. The object consists of a copper alloy plate with two iron rivets centrally placed, which terminates in a hinge fitting with semi-spherical terminals proejecting to the sides. This is attached by the central loop of the hinge to an openwork plate with a central slot. This has a flat lower edge and is sub rectangular in form. it comprises an openwork loop which has two slight triangular projections at each side near its outer end.
