A Medieval copper alloy buckle (12th – 14th century). The buckle is D-shaped with a narrowed and offset bar. The outer edge has moulded decoration that is oval and expanded from the frame. On this decoration there is a transverse notch for the pin rest and on either side are transverse ribs- three on one side, two on the other. The bar is slightly distorted through damage but the wire pin is still present. The pin has been wrapped around the bar for attachment, forming an incomplete loop. Hollowed on the reverse corresponding to areas of highest relief. Probably 18th century, possibly Roman. Length 25.62mm, width 20.00mm, thickness 7.8mm, weight 10.07g.

A copper-alloy harness pendant with attached suspension mount, 41.7mm in length and 16.7mm in width, of medieval circa 14th century date. The suspension mount is rectangular in sahpe with a corroded iron rivet through its upper end and two parallel lugs at its lower end, a corroded iron bar runs horizontally through these two lugs and it is from this the pendant hangs. The pendant itself is shield shaped and its supension loop is set at right angles to the plane of the pendant. The front face of the pendant has two diagonally opposing recessed quarters and has traces of gilding surviving.

Post-medieval copper-alloy sword-belt fitting, with suspension loop in which a small copper alloy ring survives. The mount has an oval central lobe, with engraved foliate decoration, with numerous punched annulets in the field. At one end of this is a further smaller sub-circular lobe with central perforation and an incomplete projecting knop at the end. At the other end of the object there is a simple fully re-curved hook forming a suspension loop, separated from the main body of the object by a moulded ridge or collar. A body sherd of Roman grey ware, probably from a large storage jar. There are numerous quartz and non-crystalline dark grey sand inclusions. A cast copper alloy ‘cooking pot’ shaped loop chape from a Jacobean shoe buckle. The chape has a rolled bar, to house the separate spindle (now missing). There is a pin constriction half way along the bar and the pin survives. The chape is complete but the rest of the buckle is missing. The metal is a dark brownish-green colour. These buckles date from circa 1660-1720. Parallels for this type of buckle can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p96.

A cast copper alloy double looped rectangular buckle frame, with crudely moulded or cut angular projections on the outer edges of the frame. The strap bar is narrow. A lump of iron corrosion survives in situ on the strap bar, indicating where the pin once sat. The buckle frame is complete. The buckle is a dark greyish-green colour and the surface is slightly pitted. A parallel could not be found, but this buckle is likely to be post-medieval in date.

A copper-alloy pendant loop from a bar mount, now missing, medieval in date. This pendant loop is rectangular in shape and measures 14mm in length and 12.15mm in width. This loop has decorative transverse ridges across its corners. It would have originally hung from a bar mount which would have been riveted to a belt or strap.

A cast copper alloy double looped buckle, with an intact strap bar. The buckle has two sub-oval loops. There are moulded and engraved rosette knops on the outer edges of each loop. There are also moulded knops at each end of the strap bar. The strap bar is very narrow. The frame is uninterrupted; so therefore has no pin recess. The pin is missing. The metal has lost most of its original surface and the metal is a mid greyish-green colour. This type of buckle dates from circa 1550 - 1650. Parallels for this type of buckle can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p63.

A cast copper alloy double loop oval sword belt hanger. The frame is complete and has angled outer edges. The suspension loop has been set at a 90° angle to the main body of the sword belt hanger. The metal has lost most of its original surface and the metal is a mid reddish-brown colour and is pitted. This type of sword belt hanger dates from circa 1500 - 1650. Parallels for this type of hanger can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p72.

A copper-alloy buckle with an integral plate, medieval circa 14th century in date. The frame is oval and measures 14.3mm in width and 11mm in width. The plate is rectangular, 18mm in length and 10.5mm in width, with a circular pin hole through which there is a copper-alloy pin attached via an open loop. There is also a small circular empty rivet hole behind the pin hole. The plate is narrower towards its terminal end and appears to be incomplete at its tip.
