A gold probably 18th century posy finger ring. The ring has a D-shaped section with plain exterior. The outer edges of the D-shaped section appears to be chamfered, giving the section an almost trapezoidal shape. Part of the hoop is more worn than any other part of the finger ring, around one side of the outer edge. The interior has been inscribed in lower case italic script: "A token of my love", which is followed by a markers mark. A similar inscription is recorded by Joan Evans, English Posies and Posy-Rings (Oxford, 1931), p. 23, but an exact match could not be found. The makers ma…

A decorative mount cast in copper alloy. The obverse depicts a floral motif, with two openwork gaps in the design (originally there were probably four, although two appear to have been filled with corrosion products). There are two mounting rivets on the reverse. The corroded copper alloy on both sides has a greyish-green colour. The Baroque style suggests a 17th century date.
