Cast copper alloy fragment of the bow of a Roman brooch with a flattened central rib, probably from a Colchester B-type two-piece brooch like the example illustrated in Crummy, 1983, p.11, Fig.6, No.50, which is dated to c.AD 50-70. Another comparable Colchester type two-piece brooch is illustrated in Hattatt, 2000, p.297, Fig.156, No.1458, and is dated to the 1st century AD.
