Broad period: ROMAN
County: Warwickshire

A rim sherd, probably in late Roman Shelly ware. The fabric has a dark grey coloured core and interior surface and the exterior surface is lighter grey/brown with shell inclusions. In profile, the rim is 'n-' shaped rim and is quite wide, tapers in towards the wall of the vessel. The exterior surface beneath the rim has a slightly curved indentation, which implies the rim may have originally flared outwards at an oblique angle. The date is uncertain, most likely roman to Medieval periods.
