An incomplete copper-alloy brooch of 'keyhole' rosette type (Hattatt 284/285) The cylindrical spring case, 20mm wide, is formed from two pieces of metal rolled together and perforated with a central transverse slot. The spring cover is broken and a portion missing. The spring & pin are also missing. A central disk, 22mm in diameter, projects slightly forward from the spring casing. This is decorated with a pair of concentric ribs around the edge of the disk.
