forged copper alloy one-piece button; the head is square in plan and pyramidal in profile or section with one impressed trefoil on each of the four faces of the pyramid; the button is 14.2 mm long and the head is 9.1 mm wide and 4.7 mm in depth; the shank is 10 mm long and 1.3 mm thick; the hole in the shank is circular and 3.5 mm in diameter, leaving only 1 mm either side of it, making the attachment very delicate, and there is a break in one end where the edge of the hole meets the main body of the shank; almost identical to an example in Bailey's Detector Finds, p.19, No.4 which is …
