Oval intaglio, Probably cornelian. Post-medieval, probably the second half of the eighteenth century. Length 18.2mm, width 15mm and 2.5mm thick. Weight 2.01g. The intaglio is set in an oval copper alloy mount which has traces of gilding on both sides and may have been part of a pendant seal. Viewing an impression the matrix is in the form of a male bust in classical style facing right. There is a small chip on the front lower left of the stone.
