A copper-alloy thimble dating to the 16th century. The rim of the thimble has been thickened but is free from decoration. The sides are almost straight; the indentations have been arranged in a spiral starting near to the rim. The indentations are circular and they are all the same size (apart from the ones right on the top of the thimble, which are slightly smaller and closer together). The thimble has a rounded top. It is possible that this is a child's thimble because it is so small.
