Medieval copper alloy seal matrix, height 18mm, diameter of matrix 15mm. It is hexagonal in shape with a tiny pierced terminal projectiong from the handle. Remains of an ?iron pin are corroded into the piercing. The matrix reads *PRIVE SV [I am private] followed by a downwards-pointing arrow, around the image of a bird with a showy tail, a peacock perhaps?

Medieval copper-alloy rectangular two-piece sheet-metal strap-end with side strips, 38x18mm. Both shorter ends are ornate. The closed end has a triangle cut away with a projection inside it ending in a triangular point. Either side of this area the ends are rounded and each had an intact rivet in place. Two post medieval copper alloy seal matrices, also known as 'fob-seals'. They are both conical but the handles are rather flat in section. The terminals are tri-lobed with a piercing in each lobe. Seal matrix no.1 also has a piercing between the two opposing lobes. Seal matrix no.1 has a very thin matrix, which is bent in one place at the edge. Incomplete Medieval lead pilgrim’s ampulla, probably dating from the 13th to the 15th century. The neck of the ampulla is missing and the body is closed. The obverse face depicts a scallop shell design with sharp ribs producing a corrugated surface and notched edges, and defining the ampulla as a Spencer’s (1990) type I. At the top of the fragment a raised arc on both sides defines the edge of the scallop motif, and the small surviving area above this, is plain. The reverse face is decorated with a six-pointed star within a circle.

Incomplete Roman T-shape bow brooch of 1st - 2nd century AD date. The brooch is represented by the upper bow and one of the wings only, and employed a hinge mechanism with tubular wings. The head is decorated with a raised chevron moulding around the hinge. The bow is flat with tapering sides. The upper bow is decorated with two opposing triangular cells set within a raised rectangular panel. The cells would have contained enamel. Small amounts of iron corrosion staining around the hinge may suggest an iron pin or axis bar.

This is a T-shaped Roman brooch minus the spring mechanism, from the 1st - 2nd Century AD. The brooch is 29.2mm in length (from the head to the foot) and 25.8mm wide (measured across the arms). The arms are still intact. They are decorated with a diagonal grooved pattern. The grooves themselves are decorated with a number of uniform pellets. At the terminals of the arms there is a flat (but wide) disc which would have helped to hold the spring mechanism. Near complete Roman copper alloy bow brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4, flat wing ends type), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.a-4.b. Plate 46.
