An incomplete copper-alloy book clasp of hollow type, 50mm in length and 30mm in width. It consists of a decorated cast front plate with sides which are turned down at right angles to meet a flat backplate, leaving a hollow space where the strap from the book's cover would have fitted. Both the front and back plates are rectangular, measuring 33mm in length and 30mm in width. 1: An incomplete copper-alloy folded sheet buckle plate. Only one half of this buckle plate now survives and it in is two parts. It is rectangular in shape, measuring 55mm in length and 21mm in width. The pin slot is visible but the plate does not appear to have been recessed. There is one rivet in situ, near to one of the attachment end corners. A pouch shaped lead ampulla, measuring 48mm in length and 29mm in width. The suspension lugs of this ampulla are now missing, as is part of its rim, due to old damage. On the front face of the pouch there is a crowned letter 'W' which is believed to stand for 'Walsingham.' On the reverse there are traces of a (probably) four petalled flower. Double looped buckle frame - spectacle buckle. Rounded loops with trefoil decorations at the ends of the central bar and pointed lobe decorations at the ends. The whole frame has a slight upwards curve. One of the loops and the pin missing.
