The copper-alloy head plate from an early Anglo-Saxon small-long brooch. The head plate is rectangular in shape and has intergral crescent-shaped side and top knops, the top knob and one of the side knops are incomplete due to old breaks. The complete knop is bent, but without any stress to the metal; this implies that it may have been damaged by heat. This is important as it can support the idea that some cremation was taking place in the area where this brooch was found. The head plate has a slightly raised rectangular central panel. The top of the bow is present, and again the r…

Early Anglo-Saxon copper-alloy disc brooch, flat and circular (35.2mm). The edges are slightly abraded. The upper surface is decorated with a series of 14 circular dots, conical in cross-section, each within a very worn and barely visible ring. The reverse has two lugs, one on each opposite edge, perpendicular to the edge of the brooch. Both lugs are incomplete. Around the lug which would have supported the pin there is some iron staining. The surface of the brooch is covered with a heavy brown/green patina.
