Headplate fragment from a Hook Norton or related brooch. A central grooved ridge runs up the centre of the bow to the wings. A single flute or channel runs either side of the central ridge. The wings are rolled over and decorated with a single horizontal line.

Glass centre-boss brooch. The brooch is oval with a large conical purple-coloured glass boss taking pride in the centre. There are two bands of enamel surrounding the boss, being reddish/brown on the outer and blue on the inner. These two bands are seperated by a raised thin silvered copper alloy band on either side. This type of brooch is common and widespread in the fourth century, having originated on the continent.

Copper alloy stirrup terminal of zoomorphic design. The terminal has two perforations, one being 6.5mm in diameter, the other 2mm in diameter. Part of the snout of the animal which forms the main body of the terminal and which would have fitted over the iron stirrup is broken.

Fragment of a Hod Hill brooch. The central plate is fluted and has two side lugs. The head is somewhat narrow for a Hod Hill, however it is rolled over and has the usual gap to support a hinged pin. The foot is only partially present, and appears to be plain, tapering to a foot knob (now lost).

Fragment of what may have been a small colchester brooch. The catchplate is nearly all but missing, however the beginnings of it is present. The frame of it appears to divide away from the foot rather than being broken indicating that it may have been openwork in design. Plain bow with ridge at head. Spring missing.

Enamelled trumpet brooch. Trumpet head encloses the spring mechanism (lost). The foot is straight and terminates with a knob. The bow is decorated with a half-round acanthus design. The lower part of the bow is enamelled red, however is too worn to describe the pattern. A similar example from the parish has a diamond pattern set vertically with red enamel. It is likely that this would have been the same on this brooch. The incomplete of Hawkes and Dunning Type IIA (300-500 AD). It consists a pair of crested trumpet mouthed beasts facing across a narrow bar. The body is incised to give a scaled appearance. The tails terminate in another beast head (one missing) with an upturned snout. An integral cast loop at the neck projects perpendicular to the inwardly curved head. The back of the buckle is plain and flattened. Width 40mm, length 28mm. This type of buckle have a separate loop, tongue and plate joined by a separate hinge pin. Date: 4th - 5th century AD.
