An incomplete Iron Age uninscribed gold stater of the North Eastern region / Corieltavi, dating to the period c.50-20 BC, probably South Ferriby type. Obverse: Wreath, cloak and crescents. Reverse: Lunate horse left, double upper front legs 'anchor' face above, unclear motif below. cf. ABC p. 92, no. 1743; cf. BMC nos. 3148-3149 passim.
The coin has been pierced in two places, at about 1 o’clock on the obverse and (unsuccessfully) at 3 o’clock, with the loss of some of the edge of the coin.
