A copper-alloy core from a plated gold Iron Age stater of the North Eastern Region / Catuvellauni, probably South Ferriby type, dating to the period c.50-20 BC. Obverse: Wreath, cloak, and crescents. Reverse: Disjointed horse left, 'anchor' face above, unclear motif below. cf. ABC p. 92, no. 1743 for the prototype.
The coin appears to have a base metal with very minute traces of gold plating barely visible.
