A cast lead alloy object with a round integrally cast suspension loop and an irregular sub cylindrical body with oval cross section and a pronounced rim or lip at the top. The flanking corners of the lower portion has two stumps of iron, probably from a large attachment loop. There are no marks. Possibly a steelyard or trade weight of c. 3oz.

A complete Post Medieval lead cap which would seal a powder carrier, dating to c. AD 1600-1700. The cap had been squashed resulting in significant deformation and was straightened by the finder before photographing. Two integral loops survive,which were compressed against the body of the cap.  Dimensions: height: 17.3mm,  width: 22.34mm,  weight:13.91g. A Post Medieval lead alloy knop from the lid of a tobacco jar dating to c. AD 1625-1800. The find is an oval octofoil with moulded petals around a central boss which has a lined border. A worn and incomplete Post Medieval cast lead Kosher plumba ("lead") seal, c.AD 1750-1850. One side has hebrew characters flanking an uncertain motif; these may read בַד[...] possibly dalet, kuf, kuf (DKK) which stands for de kehillah kedosha ("of the Holy Community" = ie of the town). The other side has a different unclear motif with hebrew lettering around possibly relating to the supplier or referencing the Chief of the (Rabbinical) Court.

An incomplete Roman to Medieval conical lead steelyard weight, dating to c AD 43- 1350. It appears to be pierced through its entire height with the stub of an iron attachment visible at the apex and also in a hole at the base. It is not quite circular at the base. Dimensions: 29.6mm in height; 20.4mm in width at the base; 54.46g in weight. See the PAS database for other conical examples such as WAW-4D0DDB, CORN-A765D9 and BERK-2758E1 which are dated from the Roman to Medieval periods.
