Robertson 2000, 17 no. 86: ""The hoard of 277 Roman silver denarii was found in September 1979 at Wilde Street Farm, Beck Row, Mildenhall, Suffolk and was declared Treasure Trove at an Inquest on 22 November 1979 (part of the hoard, 19 coins, was found a year later and declared Treasure Trove on 19 January 1981). There was no evidence of a container and the coins were scattered in a wedge shaped pattern from a nucleus which has originally been a sandy mound, but which had been bulldozed some years before. A worn copper-alloy Roman as or dupondius of uncertain late 1st century AD ruler. The obverse legend and reverse type are illegible. The coin has a deliberate circular perforation approximately 9.73mm from the edge of the coin that measures 3.45mm in diameter and was seemingly not intended for suspension but served some other secondary purpose. It dates to c.43-96 AD.
