Copper alloy lozenge shaped plate brooch from the Roman period. The main body of the brooch is complete but the pin is missing. The brooch is lozenge shaped with a lug at each corner. The front face has a hollow central lozenge shaped boss which would have been filled with enamel as decoration. The boss is surrounded by a raised edge. Copper alloy cast reversed fantail type of Roman bow brooch. The bow of the brooch is complete and the catchplate is still present. The pin was on a spring mechanism held by a rearward hook over the chord. The hook is still present but the pin and the spring are missing. The back of the bow is flat and the front decoration is moulded. The top half of the bow is made up of two domes. The bow then widens to the lower bow which is almost lozenge shaped. Early Medieval copper-alloy ornate square buckle frame. The upper surface of 3 sides is generally flat, so that these sides are broadly rectangular in section. Copper alloy oval buckle from the 13/14th centuries. The frame is complete but the pin is missing and this type of buckle would probably have been attached to a buckle plate. The bar is offset and has a rectangular section whereas the rest of the frame has a circular section. The front edge of the buckle has two lobed knops with a sheet roller in between them. Similar examples for the buckle are illustrated in Egan, G, & Pritchard, F, 2002 edition, ‘Medieval Finds from Excavations in London: 3: Dress Accessories c. 1150 – c. 1450’, pages 72-3 & 76-8, particularly no.317.

Late medieval copper alloy jetton dating to the third quarter of the 15th century. The obverse has a central shield with 3 fleur-de-lis on. The legend reads 'AVE MARIA GRACIA' with a cross as an intial mark. The reverse has a triple-stranded cross flory in a quadrilobe. At the end of each arm is a fleur de lis. Around the edge of the quadrilobe are 4 pellets.

An incomplete, copper-alloy Late Iron Age to Roman Colchester brooch dating to c.25-60AD. The short wings are flat and the bow is circular in section and tapers to a point at the foot. The catchplate has three rectangular perforations. Only one turn brooch of the spring survives, but when complete it is likely to have had six or eight turns. The pin is missing, but the forward-facing hook which would have held the spring's external chord is intact. A similar example can be seen in Hattatt's Visual Catalogue (2000; 297, fig.156, no.1455). Copper alloy spring from a Roman bow brooch. Only two coils remain with part of the wire being straight, perhaps where it attached to the brooch. This was found in the same field as an incomplete Roman brooch so it is possible that it is from this brooch. The brooch is recorded on the database as LVPL-9A3D92.

Anglo Saxon zoomorphic strap end which dates to around the ninth century. This is most likely to be a Thomas Class A, Type 2. It can also be classified using Haldenby's system as coming from Group 14- Beaded Divisions/ Abstract Panels (Treasure Hunting; 1998; P40). The top edge has 3 rounded lobes. Anglo Saxon copper alloy small long brooch dating to the 6th century. It is a square headed type and appears mostly free from decoration.
