The pin consists of a flat circular head with a large central aperture, demonstrating small decorative incisions or notches radiating from its inner edge. The bottom of the head transitions into a circular-sectioned shank, which extends downwards and eventually tapers to a sharp point, initially curving outwards but then returning back on itself as a result of post-depositional distortion. There is moulded decoration in the form of seven grooves and ridges at the terminal which broadens out and is 4.78mm wide. The pin weighs 2.71g. The moulded decoration and the narrowness of the shaft are reminiscent of the central part of an L-shaped tumbler-lock lift key, however this would be a small and insubstantial example if so. It is also possible that this is the shaft from a toilet spoon, with the scoop broken off.

An incomplete copper alloy pin with a globular head with a flat underside measuring 13mm in diameter and 8mm in thickness. Projecting off centre from the underside of the head is a flat rectangular incomplete shaft, 10mm in length and 2mm in width. Surrounding this shaft is a mass of corroded iron which appears to be adhering to the head rather than running through it. This pin could be Roman or later in date.
