An incomplete lead alloy early medieval (Anglo-Saxon) nummular (coin-like) brooch. It is disc-shaped and the design on the outer face imitates contemporary coinage. To the reverse there is the remains of a double lug pin fitting to one side and a small catch-plate remains intact at the other end. The outer face is decorated with a central voided cross formed from two pairs of crossed lines, surrounded by an inner circle and then a garbled legend of alternating raised crosses and letters. Unidentified object made of a lead alloy, with some silvery ?rubbed areas which may possibly be inlaid silver wires. Most of the object is made of very thin sheet, but across the ?top is a chunky lozenge- or pentagonal-section moulding with transverse ribbing on the flat upper face. The sheet then curves down away from this moulding. Running down the sheet perpendicular from the chunky moulding is a narrow moulding which appears to have some slight transverse grooving or ridging at the lower end.
