An incomplete Roman copper-alloy finger ring dating to circa aD 200-300. It has a faceted octagonal bezel with steep flat walls. In the centre is a bluestone gem setting with a central motif of probable corn ears. Only one of the shoulders survive. The extant shoulder consists of a narrowed, constricted section before it flares outwards. From here, the flared segment tapers inwards before terminating in an old break. The extant elements of the ring consist of the bezel with intaglio setting, shoulders and a small portion of the hoop, now survived by short stubs. The bezel is flat with damage on one side. It is circular in plan and it is formed by three coils of an oval cross-sectioned metal wire; both ends are broken and worn. The surface is very abraded and heavily pitted.
