An incomplete copper-alloy Roman trumpet brooch of Bayley and Butcher 2004, Group A. It has a plain, expanded trumpet-shaped head. To the rear of this there is an integral single lug. At the top rear of the head is a short projection, which probably supported a loose wire head-loop originally. The bow narrows rapidly and is strongly curved in profile with an acanthus moulding in the centre extending all the way around (less developed to the reverse) and flanked on either side by three transverse, parallel ribs on the outer face only. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman double lug Colchester derivative brooch. The head is semi-cylindrical in shape with a concave reverse, its outer face undecorated. A double pierced lug projects from the centre of the reverse of the head, still securing the surviving half of a copper-alloy pin spring in place with part of the copper-alloy chord. The bow is narrow, D-shaped in cross-section and tapers to a break across its lower end. The lower bow and foot are missing.
