An incomplete copper-alloy possibly Medieval strap end, dating to AD 1300-1450. It consists of a sub-rectangualr sheet of metal, which has been folded widthways and secured at the open end with a copper-alloy rivet. The fold has a wide gap while the attachment end has the remains of a central hole and two lateral V-shaped notches. It consists of the spacer, which has a sub-rectangular shape in plan and tapers slightly towards the terminal knop; before the knop the lower part of the spacer has a waist. A cast copper-alloy strap end of possible Roman or later date. It is rectangular in form and section with split attachment end, tapering slightly to a globular terminal knop. At the attachment end there is a single central rivet hole, which retains the corroded remains of an iron rivet. The entire object has a worn dark green patina and measures 28.27mm in length, 6.69mm in width, 5.47mm in thickness (at terminal, 4.62mm at plate), and 3.02g in weight.

Description: A fragment of an Anglo-Saxon silver strap-end of Gabor Thomas Class A (Thomas 2003, 2) consisting of the zoomorphic terminal only.
The fragment tapers from the broken edge to a rounded point. The upper incomplete edge has the lower part of what appears to be an openwork design, consisting of two symmetrical V-shaped notches with part of a central small rounded hole, resembling a rivet hole, between. A copper-alloy incomplete heart-shaped strap end. This strap end is incomplete as although it consisted of two sheets originally now one of these is fragmentary. It measures 33.50mm in surviving length and 21.65mm in width (at its widest point, that is across the centre of the heart shape). There is a single copper alloy rivet through the centre of the attachment end.
The fragmentary sheet, the attachment terminal of which survives appears to have been decorated with very faint rocker decoration along its edges and down its centre.

Description: An incomplete silver strap end, one half of the attachment edge is missing due to an old break. It is rectangular in shape and the attachment end is solid but thinner than the rest of the strap end, it is flush with the back face. Like all Class E strap ends this example is tongue-shaped with roughly a ratio of width to lenght of 2:1, this example measures 28.66mm in length and 15.53mm in width. Type 3 is distinguished by the presence of a median longitudinal rib on the front face.
