An incomplete cast copper alloy annular brooch of medieval date. The pin is missing and the brooch is incomplete. It consists of an annular band, D shape in section with an old break located near the recess for the pin bar. It is almost circular in form, 23.92mm in length from the open end to the base of the item, 24.45mm across the width. The hoop is c3.90mm in width and 1.02mm thick. An early post medieval cast copper alloy Class E single sharp hooked clasp, Type 1, rectangular with moulded relief. It has a longitudinal rectangular raised panel, each side engrailed (three knops on each side) and has a double ridged ribbed collar at the junction of plate and rearward facing hook. See Read 2008 p88 nos 294,295 and 296. It is 26.17mm in length, 11.68mm in width and weighs 2.24g.
