A complete but distorted solid gold penannular ring dating to the Middle Bronze Age, c. 1550-1150 BC. It is broadly oval in plan view and plano-convex in section, being formed of three 'D' sectioned bands which have been soldered together, though in places these are starting to come away from one another. The terminals are squared off, but now overlap due to damage. Description:  At face value, this is an unofficial copy of a gold Merovingian tremissis of a type originally minted in Dorestad between c.630 and c.650 by a moneyer named Madelinus. Description: A complete gold post-medieval posy ring. It has a simple plain gold band, D-shaped in cross-section with the inscription 'Honored for your vertues' in italic script on the inner surface. There is a small mark after the inscription, but this is probably not a maker's mark. It survives in very fine condition. Date: c.
