A sherd of a Roman Gaulish Samian ware vessel of form Dragendorff 33, dating to the period 65AD-110AD. A small sherd from the side of a Samian cup. There is a straight incised line on the outer side, once part of a simple decoration. There is a glossy red-orange slip on both surfaces. The fabric looks like it is a product of the southern Gaulish kilns. Length 47.19mm, Width 45.84mm, Thickness 5.72mm and Weight 9.8g

A rim sherd from a large Roman Gaulish Samian ware vessel dating from circa 43 - 200AD. Below the beaded rim the sherd is plain both inside and out. The sherd is an even dark orange colour with a slight sheen on the outer side, slightly duller orange with no sheen on the inner side. A sherd of a Roman colour-coated vessel of unknown manufacture (possibly Oxfordshire). The sherd comes from the body of the vessel. It is thin-walled, bright orange in colour with traces of a darker slip within the decoration. The outer face has a transverse groove across one end and rouletted decoration. The fabric is hard and fine and is tempered with occasional mica, rounded quartz sand (>1mm) and more frequent amounts of angular, dark coloured material, perhaps iron ore (>1.5mm).
