Fragment of a copper alloy mount, dating to the Post Medieval period. The mount is the lower half of openwork mount, in the form of a fleur de lis. The lis points downwards, with the side points curving into two loops. The mount is broken across the top. This would have formed a 'heart' shape (triangular with rounded ends and a point in the centre of the upper edge), now lost. LEIC-DE4755, on this database, is a more complete example. A complete copper alloy animal (crotal) bell, dating to the Post Medieval period. The bell is formed of two hemispheres joined by a raised circumferential join. The upper hemisphere has two circular sound holes, whilst the lower hemisphere has a long sound slit with rounded ends. The free-moving, iron pea survives within the bell. A 'D' shaped integral suspension loop survives at the top of the upper hemisphere. The surface of the bell is decorated with the typical 'sunburst' pattern, now very worn. A copper alloy, double looped buckle dating to the Post Medieval period. The buckle consists of two 'D' shaped loops aside a central, narrowed strap bar. The frame is rectangular and the strap bar is ovoid. The pin is missing. It measures 19.6mm in length, 23.6mm in width, 2.01mm in thickness and weighs 2.04g. Whitehead (2003, pg. 54), illustrates similar examples of buckles, e.g. 305, which he dates between 1500 and 1650 AD.

Copper alloy fragment of a folding balance that would have been used for accurate measuring. It comprises of one horizontal ovoid sectioned cross bar with a rectangular slot in each end. A rectangular arm sits within one slot, secured with a copper alloy, circular sectioned rivet. A complete five pointed spur rowel dating from the Medieval to Post Medieval periods. Both faces are plain and undecorated. At the centre of the rowel is an irregular, off-centre and sub-circular hole to accommodate a bar, with an approximate diameter of 5mm. The rowel has a mid green patination and the points of the star are worn and smooth. It measures 24.3mm in length, 25.9mm in width and 2.5mm in thickness; it weighs 3.4g.

Forty nine (49) fragments of a probable copper alloy cooking vessel, dating from the Medieval to Post Medieval periods. The fragments are broadly flat in appearance and range in shape and size but are of a similar thickness, ranging between 1.5mm and 5mm. Owing to the flat nature of the fragments, it is probable that the vessel was originally a skillet, similar to a modern saucepan being straight sided and with a projecting handle. Butler, Green and Payne (2009; FRG Datasheet 41, pg 3) state that the majority of recorded skillets are of 17th, 18th or early 19th Century in date. The …
