A Post Medieval-Modern lead alloy bag seal, dating to the 18th-19th century AD. The seal is circular with a long rectangular opening along one edge and two shorter rectangular openings opposite. An incomplete Medieval copper alloy dagger pommel, dating AD1300-1600. The pommel has three arms with trefoils at the end, one of which has broken away. One arm has traces of a rectangular slit with iron inside, staining of which continues beneath the object suggesting that an iron tang once fitted into it. Object type: PERFORATED OBJECT
Broad period: MESOLITHIC
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
An unfinished Mesolithic pebble mace head, dating c. 9,000-4,000 BC. The object is formed from a pebble that has a mid-dark brown colour, with traces of an attempt to drill through the object on either side. Kevin Leahy suggests the material of the stone is quartzite (pers. comm. 02.09.2016). The attempted perforation would have been to allow it to be hafted. There are traces of wear around the edges, particularly at the more pointed end. This may indicate that it was still used despite not being hafted. However, it may simply be the result of natural processes, such as deposition in …

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
An incomplete Post Medieval lead alloy toy, dating AD1500-1700. All that remains appears to be that of the lower half of a dress or a skirt. Both sides appear decorated with a cast design, consisting of a series of horizontal lines with diagonal lines forming chevrons either side. There is also a border, formed of a ladder style decoration. There are a series of holes in between some of the border designs. These appear to be more a result of the thinness of the lead at those points, rather than intentional perforation. The narrow, upper end appears to have been broken. The metal has a…
