A complete ceramic bead of an uncertain date ranging from the Roman to Post Medieval periods. it is an irregular discoidal shape with a sloping profile. The central aperture is small <4mm in diameter. The exterior edge is decorated with two sets of four longitudinal incised grooves. There is seemingly a thick horizontal band running across approximately half of the exterior intersecting with the longitudinal grooves.  Beads are difficult to date without context. A sherd from the body of a Roman colour-coated ware vessel. Probably Oxfordshire red/brown-slipped ware. Hard, fine-textured fabric with poorly sorted occasion reddish iron ore and fine quartz sand. It appears to have a slightly laminar fracture, although the edges are heavily abraded. It has an orange core, slightly darker inner surface and traces of dark brown slip on the outer face. A fragment from a Roman box flue tile dating to AD 43-410. The fragment has evidence of the typical combed decoration on one face. The outer face is undecorated. The fabric is orange on the outer surfaces and has a grey colour core.  There are infrequent quartz inclusions throughout the fabric.  Box flue tiles were used to create flues in the walls of building, through which hot air generated by the hypocaust system would pass. A sherd from the handle of a meddieval coarseware vessel. The handle is sub-rectangular in cross-section with a raised longitudinal ridge along either side of its outer face. Between these ridges a crude cross has been scratched into the surface prior to firing and there are lines of dots along each edge. The handle is sizeable and probably came from a large jug. The fabric is hard and coarse and is tempered with poorly sorted rounded quartz (<2mm), most of which is quite fine and occasional larger fragments of white chalky material (<2mm). A sherd from the base of a Roman colour-coated vessel. The base is small with the small surviving section of the body flaring outwards rapidly above this suggesting a beaker-like form originally. The fabric is reddish-brown in colour, hard and fine and tempered with fine quartz sand. Traces of a dark brown slip survive on the inner surface. Possibly of Oxfordshire production. A Roman fragment of a ceramic terra sigillata (Samian ware) vessel dating to circa AD 43-300. It is a decorated body sherd of form Dragendorff 37 or 30. It is slightly curved in profile with a pink fabric. The fragment has a stamped decoration on the external face depicts a 5 leaf petal on the right handside.
