Part of the thick, vertical rim survives with steep carination towards the base of the sherd, which curves inwards at an angle of 45 degrees an narrows sharply. An incomplete and repaired Grimston type ware face jug of Medieval date, c.13th to 14th century AD. The entire rim, part of the handle and the upper half of the vessel are preserved, restored from 17 joining sherds by the finders. It has a sandy grey fabric that is glazed on the exterior surface and has applied decoration. The rim measures 103.42mm in diameter and has an unglazed upper surface that slopes downwards towards the interior of the vessel where it is slightly beaded.
