A sherd from the handle of a meddieval coarseware vessel. The handle is sub-rectangular in cross-section with a raised longitudinal ridge along either side of its outer face. Between these ridges a crude cross has been scratched into the surface prior to firing and there are lines of dots along each edge. The handle is sizeable and probably came from a large jug. It is a consistent brownish buff colour, with frequent inclusions of sand temper visible in its surfaces. Preserved in slightly abraded condition, it survives to a length of 34.46mm down its longest axis, a maximum width of 28.19mm, and 7.87mm thick at its midpoint. It weighs 9.0g.

An incomplete wheel-thrown ceramic rim sherd dating to the Medieval period, c. 1200-1400. It demonstrates an even mid greyish colour, with a flat-topped rim and with frequent inclusions of sand temper visible. This is probably a product of the Medieval Ipswich industries which continued to be manufactured right up till the 14th century. Preserved in fresh condition, it survives to a length of 19.64mm, 24.40mm wide, and 8.31mm thick at its midpoint. It weighs 4.85g.

An incomplete ceramic handle fragment originating from a jug dating to the late Medieval period, c. 1400-1500. It consists the lower part of the handle just prior to where it joins with the body of the jug itself, though the very bottom of the handle itself is broken away in old damage, in addition to a portion of the side.
