A complete cast copper-alloy La Tene I brooch of Adams type 1b, dating to the Early Iron Age, c. 450-300 BC. The brooch survives completely intact, though its pin and part of the spring is somewhat distorted in old damage. It demonstrates a four-coiled spring, the outer coils arching in a semicircle above the head before plunging to form the pin. The head expands into a broadly oval shaped body demonstrating raised decoration in the form of an inner hollow lenticular moulding. An incomplete copper-alloy late Iron Age to early Roman brooch probably of the Colchester Type, dating to c. AD 20-60. The head is very damaged and the only element recognisable is a fragment of the integral spring, which protrudes from the lower edge of the back face. The bow is sub-triangular in cross-section and slightly tapers towards the break. The front face of the bow has three longitudinal grooves still visible. The brooch is heavily abraded and pitted.

An incomplete copper-alloy late Iron Age to early Roman brooch of the Colchester type, dating to c. AD 20-60. The head is winged; each wing is shortened stubby. The back face of the head has the fragment of the forward facing hook and below that there is a short remainder of the integral spring. The bow is oval in cross-section and it tapers towards the pointed foot. The back face of the foot has minimal traces of the catch-plate. The bow is slightly bent in different points and the surfaces are heavily abraded.

A one-piece cast copper-alloy late Iron Age to Early Roman brooch of the Tène III Type, dating to 50 BC - AD 70. It has a three-coil spring mechanism with internal chord and complete pin. The bow is curved in profile and has an oval cross-section tapering towards the foot where it flatens creating the catch plate. The catch plate is trapezoidal in profile and has the upper corner of the back edge folded in itself in order to create the catch for the pin.
The complete example is in good condition; it has signs of abrasion over the surface and traces of a reddish brown patina. Cf…
