Slightly brown stained unpolished flaked axehead with a modern chip showing a grey flint core. Slightly plano-convex in form with all-over working could be of Mesolithic or Neolithic date. The blade edge has large longitudinal flake scars rather than classic tranchet scars, perhaps supporting a Neolithic rather than Mesolithic date. 117.69mm, in length, 40.41mm width, 26.33mm in thickness, 134.58g in weight.

A polished flint axehead with narrow butt and squared sides. All-over polish with only a few former flake scars present, mainly on butt butt half of axe. Polish is coarse apart from blade end where it is fine. The surface is a mixture of mid brown and grey, possibly partial peat staining. However, one side of the cutting edge has a series of unstained flakes removed at a later date, showing a mid grey flint. These flakes look like retouch but are possibly plough damage that occurred when the axe was buried at the base of the plough line in a sub-vertical position, relatively recently.…

An almost complete flint Mesolithic tranchet axe recent damage to blade end and butt, revealing mottled grey flint underneath patinated/stained pale to medium browns. It has a tranchet edge large flake scars and roughly plano-convex cross-section. Reltaively straight sided and narrows slightly towards the butt which is sub-square. 115.80mm in length and 40.54mm in width and 24.40mm in thickness.

A complete small worked flint chisel of Neolithic date. It is plano-convex in form and struck from a pale grey flint with some darker brown patches. All of the surfaces have retouch and flake removal, additionally the cutting edge and top of the ridge along the upper(?) spine of the object are polished. It measures 105.94mm in length, 35.06mm in width (27.69mm in width at blade end), 22.76mm in thickness, and weighs 86.80g. This is a worked flint chisel dating to the Early Neolithic period, c.3,500-2,900 BC.

A large flint handaxe of Palaeolithic date in the Acheulian tradition. It is sub-triangular in form with a pointed oval shaped cross section and struck from flint that has a stained medium to dark brown colour. The axe has a rounded tip with triangular butt end and heavy flake scars on all surfaces. It shows signs of having been rolled whilst in the ground. This axehead measures 186mm in length, 115mm in width, 52mm in thickness and weighs 989g. It is of Lower Palaeolithic date, c.500,000-40,000 BC.

A worked flint trancet axe formed from pale orange/brown flint and of probable Mesolithic date. It is loosely plano-convex in form and of tranchet type, although is relatively small in size. Both faces have all over invasive retouch and one side has a marked ridged back with small areas of cortex remaining. The cutting edge is convex in form with single flake removal from each face forming the cutting edge. This axe measures 105.84mm in length, 39.62mm in width, 30.42mm in thickness, and weighs 131.85g. It dates to the Mesolithic period, c.8,300-4,500 BC.

A large and complete tranchet type axehead of Mesolithic date. It has patinated and stained surfaces that are mixed grey in colour on one face and mixed brown on the other. The axe is roughly struck, plano-convex in form and with many heavy, large flake scars. The sides and butt end are steeply flaked and the cutting edge has an irregular, convex form. A flint laurel leaf blade, probably of Neolithic, or possibly earlier, date. It is struck from a grey/brown flint that has a mottled orange/white patina. The object is ovoid in form, biconvex in section and bifacially worked, narrowing at one end but seemingly complete. Both faces have shallow but well controlled retouch formed from relatively large, shallow flakes with limited edge retouch at both ends and in areas of the sides/edges. A large flint blade core of possible Upper Palaeolithic or Mesolithic date. It is struck from a mottled dark brown flint that has had the exterior surfaces removed from all faces with the exception of traces of cortex on one side. It is now roughly square in section and rectangular in form, tapering towards one end. The core has two opposed striking platforms and one face has multiple long blade scars. It measures 132.61mm in length, 70.52mm in width, 70.66mm in thickness, and weighs 859g. This is a large blade core of probable Upper Palaeolithic to early Mesolithic date, c.80,000-6.500 BC.
