Object type: STRAP FITTING
Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Published
Fragment of cast bronze bugle-shaped object (probably strap attachment/harness), one item within a hoard. Wide flanged, open ended hollow tube with loop. The loop has a hollow section at the break but this may be a large casting void in an otherwise solid loop. The item is crushed almost flat at the (ancient) break. Common small pale/medium green corrosive encrustations on the surface which is patinated medium/dark green/brown. This object is of Late Bronze Age Carps tongue/Ewart Park form as seen in the Watford hoard (Combs 1979).
