Each hand is bordered by three incised lines indicating cuffs. The interior of the band is undecorated. Traces of gilding survive on both faces of the ring. Discussion: Stirrup shaped bezels are us…

The hoop is decorated with an engraved star motif and below the shoulder an engraved pair of chevrons. Description: A gold finger ring of Medieval date. It has a d-shaped hoop which is complete. It is decorated on the outside face with lozenges infilled with groups of pellets. The inscription reads en bon cuer (in good heart). There is also engraving on the interior of the hoop, made up of a single wheat stalk followed by what looks like two sets of initials separated b…

A gold finger ring made of a flattened band engraved with flowers and leaves on the external face. The engraving is split into three parts with words engraved between each. From comparable examples these are likely to be in French and may read 'en bon an' which was a fairly common phrase meaning 'a good year'.
