A contemporary copy of a Roman siliqua of Valens, c.364-378 AD, with a reverse type used by Constantius II (337-61) at Arles, c. 357-61. This is an irregular copy of a siliqua with copper-alloy core, plated surfaces and irregular types. Reverse: The legend VOTIS/XXX/MVLTIS/XXXX (letter V's inverted) within a wreath.

Plated copies of siliquae or not uncommon, and it is also not uncommon for forgers to combine types of different emperors. This is a fine example.
