An incomplete Roman copper-alloy Colchester Derivative Harlow/Double lug brooch dating to AD 43-100. The surviving elements consisting of the wings, double lug, coil, pin and upper portion of the bow. The lower bow and catchplate are missing. The wings are hemispherical and open at the reverse. In the centre is a pierced double lug; the upper perforation holds the chord and the lower the axis bar. Surrounding the axis bar is the spring, survived now by 6 coils with two missing. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy double lug Colchester derivative brooch. The head is semi-cylindrical in shape with a concave reverse. In the centre of the reverse there is a double pierced lug, which still secures the in situ copper-alloy pin spring and chord (the pin itself is missing). The remaining part of the bow is D-shaped in cross-section, humped and curved in profile with three longitudinal, parallel ribs decorating the outer face. The lower bow is missing. An incomplete copper alloy Roman hinged Colchester derivative brooch. The head is cylindrical in shape with a transverse slot in the centre of its reverse where the hinged head of the pin would have been situated originally. This slot is now filled with iron corrosion - the remnants of the pin. The outer face of each wing is decorated with a central fluted section flanked on either side by a beaded section with transverse grooves on either side.
