An incomplete polished stone axehead of Neolithic date. It is oval in shape, bifacially polished and narrows slightly towards the butt end. This is probably a fragment from the cutting end of a larger stone implement, the original butt end now missing due to old breaks. The cutting edges themselves are slightly chipped in places, perhaps deliberately although equally the result of post-depositional damage. A cast copper alloy terminal in the form of an eagle or griffin head, probably Medieval in date and possibly a pommel for a sword or similar item. It is hollow and has extensive moulded and incised decoration that defines the form of the creature, which has a slightly open hooked beak and prominent oval shaped ears. An incomplete cast copper alloy mount of possible Early Medieval date, perhaps for use on a belt or similar object. The object is missing one quarter of the plate as well as most of the integral suspension hook due to old breaks. An incomplete copper alloy Roman Colchester derivative Polden Hill brooch of flat wing ends type. It is missing part of the rear hook, the end of one wing, the spring and axis bar, as well as most of the catchplate due to old breaks. A copper alloy Roman nail cleaner of Baldock Type, with a leaf-shaped blade which tapers to two points. There are incised lines outlining the edges of the blade, on both sides, but otherwise the nail cleaner is undecorated. The suspension loop at the upper terminal is turned at ninety degrees to the blade. The object measures 45.55mm in length, and is 11.99mm in width at its widest point, tapering to 3.75mm at its split terminal. It weighs 2.59g. Crummy(1983, 57-8) dates this type from the mid first continuing into the scond century AD. An identical example is illustrated from Hatches…
